Heather Allen
Meet Heather Allen
Heather grew up in Connecticut dancing from a young age through high school, and continued to dance competitively in college. She was on the Keene State College Dance Team and competed at UDA Nationals at ESPN Worldwide Sports Arena twice. She also completed coursework in dance studies including dance technique, composition, and research methods from the field of performance studies while receiving bachelor’s degrees in Elementary Education, Nutritional & Physical Health, and Business Management. Heather then went on to further her career in education receiving her master’s degree in special education with summa cum laude honors from Merrimack College.
Heather taught elementary school until her maternity leave with her first daughter, Isla, in 2021. She then started her own business from home, Gaia Baby Goods, an organic, nontoxic and sustainable baby brand, which was featured in British Vogue! Shortly after, she welcomed her second daughter, Indy, in 2023 with the dreamiest home birth. A homebody, Heather loves downtime with her family, traveling to new places, homeschooling her two littles, exercising, as well as furthering her education in health and wellness.
As a young adult, Heather realized there weren’t many options to continue dancing as an adult, aside from professionally, until she found The Vitality Place. She instantly felt at home taking Pro and Contemporary classes, Cardio Dance, and various Barre and Yoga classes. Being a client at TVP since 2018, Heather was excited to transition into the role of instructor in 2022 and help others on their dance and fitness journey. Heather is a certified Barre instructor through the International Ballet Barre Fitness Association with coursework in Barre Essentials, Fundamental Barre Technique and most recently, Pre and Post Natal Barre.

Breakfast without a doubt.

Coffee! There’s nothing like a hot cup of black coffee in the morning. I also love getting an iced coffee when I’m out running errands or on the go.
Favorite Book?
I love books related to spiritual and personal growth, positive mindset, and health and wellness – Anything that will teach me something new to benefit myself and my family! While I have my coffee each morning, I read a page from “Every Day Spirit, A Daybook of Wisdom, Joy and Peace” by Mary Davis. It puts me in a great headspace to start the day.

There are so many depending on my mood and I love all genres! Anything with a good beat, but with two kiddos in my car, we are usually listening to Taylor Swift, Disney, or Sesame Street 🙂

On weekends, my favorite thing is to enjoy family time with my husband Mike, our two daughters Isla and Indy, and our dog Kota. We usually take weekend trips or spend time with family and friends.
What motivates you to workout?
Knowing that I will always feel my best (physically and mentally) after a good workout! I love to see progress and to be able to do things in class that I once couldn’t.
Favorite thing about TVP?
The tight-knit community that we have! I have made so many wonderful connections with other like minded individuals here – both instructors and clients! I also love the laid back, judgement-free atmosphere which can be difficult to find at other studios or gyms.
