Class Descriptions:

Contemporary

Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements from modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. In this class, you will strive to connect the mind and the body through fluid dance movements. This class allows you to express your soul and different emotions through movement. Contemporary is commonly seen on So You Think You Can Dance! This style uses unique softer music (think Ben Howard or Lana Del Rey).

Acro/Tumbling

Acro/Tumbling is a class where you will work on basic tumbling progressions beginning with forward rolls, backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and round-offs. If you are advancing quickly, we will begin to focus on more challenging tumbling skills such as aerials, standing back handsprings, standing back tucks, round-off back handsprings and back tuck combination passes! We will focus a great deal on flexibility and gain a deeper understanding of the role flexibility plays in dance.

Jazz

Jazz uses sharp and fluid movements to create a visually technical dance and style. In this class you will learn body isolations, turning, leaping, jumping and technical jazz steps. Be ready to get sassy & spicy as you dance to some of the most popular hit music!

Tricks, Turns & Technique

This is a competition class. In this class, we focus on different kinds of turns, jumps, leaps & kicks including more complicated combinations across the floor and center floor. Be ready to challenge yourself with fun, new and exciting tricks and turn combos!
